Planting your own aloe vera plant would be difficult if you live in northern countries and areas with cold climate in general. Also, note that it doesn’t need too much water. Cold and too much rain is a no-no combination for aloe vera. Anyway, I might write how to plant your own aloe vera in the future, for now, i will focus on the benefits it has when it comes to acne scar prevention.
So does aloe vera gel help acne scars after all? If yes, how?
As a follow-up to our previous post, we know that aloe vera can help acne scars only when they are in the creation process. This means that using aloe vera while you still have acne will prevent acne scars.
For those with inflammatory acne and/or inflammation on their spots pay attention. It will help not only reduce the severity of their acne but will help them stay scar free.
Does Aloe Vera Gel Help Acne Scars and how long will it take to cure them?
Those of you who don’t have acne and still want to use aloe vera gel for acne scars, good for you. A few things to know:
- Some people say that using aloe vera for a year or more had improved their scars dramatically. I believe them, after a year you should have some improvement, but don’t expect miracles.
- Deeper scars can not be treated with aloe vera gel or juice, no matter how many years you use it, you ain’t gonna make them fade.
- Aloe vera gel can work as an amazing moisturizer after dermabrasion procedures and improve healing times.
Side effects and precautions
In general, topical administration of aloe vera gel is considered safe and causes no problems, but sometimes side-effects do appear. Aloe vera gel may cause itching of the skin or burn. This is normal, but not so common. If it happens too often, that may be a signal that you have an allergy to some of its ingredients and you should consider stopping it if the side effects get worse. Aloe vera gel that you apply on your skin is considered safe, supposing you don’t have any allergies to it.
